“La rotta delle Indie, le grandi esplorazioni dal ‘400 al ‘700”: un viaggio tra leggenda e realtà .

Attraverso i numerosi oggetti in mostra e le figure dei grandi navigatori come Vasco de Gama, Cristoforo Colombo, Ferdinando Magellano, James Cook, la mostra svela come le scoperte dei nuovi mondi dettero origine alla più straordinaria trasformazione scientifica, culturale e sociale mai conosciuta.
In mostra: strumenti astronomici, nautici, geodetici e topografici, monete antiche e manoscritti, armi e armature di ogni genere, modelli di velieri e di galeoni.

Exibition regarding European Voyages of Exploration between ‘400 and ‘700:… to the riches of India through a reliable sea route… .

Da Gama, Columbus, Magellan, Thomas Cook Explorers: astronomical and nautical instruments, coin, books, fire-arms, armours,… .

The aim of Christopher Columbus' 1492-1503 voyages to the West had been to reach the Indies. From the early fifteenth century, the nautical school of Henry the Navigator had been extending Portuguese knowledge of the African coastline. From the 1460s, the goal had become one of rounding that continent's southern extremity to gain easier access to the riches of India through a reliable sea route… .

Exibition: open until 28 february 2010.

Closed: Saturday morning and Monday.

Where: in the town of Porcari (Fondazione Giuseppe Lazzareschi) , beside Lucca.

Lucca - Teatro del Giglio" in mostra - Theatre Giglio exibition - dal 26-12-2009 until- al 31-01-2010

Un suggestivo percorso espositivo all’interno del Teatro del Giglio di Lucca, attingendo al patrimonio delle numerose produzioni liriche che il Teatro ha messo in scena in questi ultimi venti anni.
Saranno esposti modellini di scena, oggetti, attrezzeria e costumi opportunamente restaurati e ‘rinfrescati’ ed in alcuni punti saranno anche ricreati alcuni brevi momenti dell’allestimento scenico delle opere più belle rappresentate al Giglio: …Bohème, Butterfly, Tosca, Turandot, Gianni Schicchi, Suor Angelica, Tabarro, Le Villi.
Una guida accompagnerà i visitatori - le visite guidate si terranno ogni mezz’ora – lungo tutto il percorso espositivo illustrando i vari allestimenti ed entrando all’interno del teatro in ogni suo luogo, dalla platea al palcoscenico.

A fascinating exhibition into the “Theatre Giglio” in Lucca, drawing on the heritage of many opera productions that the “Teatro del Giglio “staged in the last twenty years.
…display models of scene objects, props and costumes suitably restored and in some places will also recreated some brief moments of the best Opera staged at the Theatre of Giglio:…Giacomo Puccini: Boheme, Butterfly, Tosca, Turandot, Gianni Schicchi…
A guide will show the visitors every half hour - throughout the exhibition illustrating the various productions and entering the theater in every place, from the floor of the stage.
